President Mujica criticizes foreign speculation

On 8 February 2013, President José Mujica voiced concerns on public radio station M24 about speculation and foreign influence in the financial sector. He postulated that financial capitalism caused increases in prices for essential goods and that international capitalism does not pump the brakes on increasing prices. He specifically cited the company Taurion S.A., an importation firm based in Australia, as an example of speculation.
