President Morales reassures local REPSOL operations

On 17 April 2012, President Evo Morales announced that Argentina’s decision to nationalize the energy company REPSOL YPF would not affect REPSOL operations in the nationalized hydrocarbon industry in Bolivia. According to Morales, Bolivia and REPSOL, which recently invested US$1.5 billion to increase production in the Caipipendi field in Southeastern Bolivia, have and will continue to abide by mutual agreements.
