President Chávez preselects successor

On 10 December 201, Datanálisis President Luis Vicente León noted that President Hugo Chávez took the first step in the protocol for a replacement when, on 7 December 2012, he recommended current Vice President Nicolás Maduro as his possible successor. León explained that the proclamation of Chávez’s possible replacement was aimed at averting any risk of division within the revolutionary ranks.
