On 23 April 2012, Police Director Oscar Naranjo announced that authorities had seized an arsenal believed to be part of a guns-for-narcotics deal between the FARC and the Rastrojos drug gang in the western city of Cali. In another raid in Villavicencio, in the central Meta Department, Interpol and National Police personnel seized 50 mortar shells allegedly leftover from the same FARC structures that were hit last month, when 36 insurgents were killed. During the raid, Ana Graciela Arias Escobar, alias "La Boyaca," a reported key figure in the rebel group's operations in the region, was among the arrested.
