Nephrologist charged with trafficking of firearms, munitions

On 13 December 2012, the Fifth Control Court issued an order of arrest against nephrologist Henry Hernández Domínguez, charged with allegedly trafficking firearms and illicit munitions. According to a press release from the Attorney General, 22 firearms were seized in the Hernández home, located in Santa Elena de Barquisimeto, including rifles, pistols and revolvers, along with approximately 1,500 ammunition of different caliber during the 10 December 2012 raid.
