Navy arrests Los Zetas financial operator in Tamaulipas

On 15 June 2012, Navy spokesman José Luis Vergara announced the arrest of Eric Jovan Lozano Díaz, alias El Cucho, an alleged financial operator for Miguel Ángel Treviño Morales of Los Zetas, in a Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas safe house. Vergara stated that authorities seized more than US$4 million in Mexican and U.S. currencies after Lozano Díaz confessed to providing Los Zetas with funds obtained from illegal activities, including extortion.
