Government reveals guidelines of new cannabis regulatory law

On 13 November 2012, it was reported that the fines for violating the new cannabis regulatory law would be between US$600 and US$60,000. The law permits people to cultivate at most six plants per household for self-consumption, estimated at 480 grams, with those exceeding the amount to be charged for possession and face 20 months to 10 years in prison. The law also creates the National Cannabis Institute, which will issue cultivation permits for small-scale producers.
