Government explores energy sales to neighbors

On 9 May 2012, the National Electricity Administration (ANDE) and the Public Works Ministry (MOPC) held a meeting to discuss the sale of energy generated from the Acaray Dam to Brazil. Uruguayan officials have already forged an agreement with the Paraguayan government, and Argentinean representatives have worked to build a similar one. Officials confirmed that the dam has sufficient capacity to sell energy to the three countries.
