GDP grows in third quarter

On 21 November 2012, the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) supplied data showing that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth at the end of the third quarter of 2012 stood at 5.2 percent. The numbers represent domestic economy growth for the eighth quarter in a row and 5.6 percent growth in the first nine months of 2012. According to the BCV, the increases of 7 percent in overall government spending and 7.8 percent in private consumption allowed public sectors such as construction, trade, and services to peak.
