Gás Energy president hails decrease in dependence on Bolivian gas

On 3 May 2012, Marcos Tavares, president of consulting company Gás Energy, stated that Brazil has reduced its reliance on Bolivian gas since 2006, with total dependency reduced from 50 to 36 percent of national consumption. He indicated that Petrobras should continue operations in that country despite its recent nationalistic rhetoric, adding that Brazil might become a gas exporter in the future.
