Federal Police apprehend suspects in human trafficking operation

On 01 January 2013, the federal police arrested a couple in the city of Salvador accused of human trafficking, as part of an international operation with the Spanish police that shut down an operation based in Salamanca, Spain. The victims in Salamanca were forced to work in nightclubs as prostitutes.
