Enersis board of directors announce potential capital increase

On 30 October 2012, the board of directors of Enersis, including Leonidas Vial, Hernán Somerville and Rafael Fernández, made a public announcement on a proposed capital increase of up to US$8.02 billion proposed by Endesa España, controller of the Chilean electric company, pending a shareholders’ meeting to vote on the measure. The Endesa proposal includes converting the business into the only target of investment in Latin America and to underwrite the capital increase of all the assets they have in the Southern Cone, one of the focuses of controversy.
