Economic activity income tax increases

On 7 February 2013, Chamber of Industries President Javier Carrau labeled a proposed 5 percent increase in the Economic Activity Income tax, from 25 to 30 percent, a change in the rules of the game. President José Mujica quickly responded that there would be a necessary increase in the percentage of the corporate income tax.
