Customs charges officers with accepting bribes

On 15 November 2012, Customs (DNA) revealed that 14 officers, mostly from Salta and Paysandú, were arrested and charged with accepting bribes. DNA further announced a new strategy to combat corruption at border crossings, comprised of an integrated surveillance system that will share centralized data and activities.
