Court rejects appeals for army officers

On 16 January 2013, the Fifth Unitary Circuit Tribunal found sufficient evidence to maintain the incarceration of five officers presumably linked to drug trafficking organizations and move forward with their trials. The officers, including Generals Tomás Ángeles Dauahare, Roberto D. González and Rubén Pérez Ramírez, were major figures in the military-led crackdown on drug trafficking under the Calderón administration.
