Chancellor Merkel expresses support for FTA

On 12 June 2012, German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed her complete support for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Peru and the European Union, during a joint press conference with President Ollanta Humala. Merkel also highlighted Peru’s consistent economic growth in recent years and efforts to diversify its economic capacities.
