Car Bomb explodes outside Tamaulipas attorney general’s headquarters

On 24 April 2012, a car bomb exploded in front of the Tamaulipas attorney general’s headquarters in the city of Nuevo Laredo. The explosion occurred after a press conference on 23 April 2012 announcing that there is no indication of the presence of an armed group representing the Sinaloa cartel in Nuevo Laredo. The Sinaloa cartel claimed responsibility for the explosion.
