Bilateral trade with Colombia increases



On 31 January 2013, preliminary data from the Colombian Bureaus of Statistics and Tax Collection revealed that trade between Colombia and Venezuela grew by 40.4 percent, surging from US$2.34 billion in 2011 to US$3.29 billion in 2012. In 2012, 80.8 percent of bilateral trade represented exports from Colombia, an increase of more than 50 percent from 2011, although Venezuelan exports also rose 5.7 percent to US$598.9 million.
