Mexican states of Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Aguascalientes swear in new governors

The Mexican states of Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Aguascalientes swore in new governors on 1 December 2016 (24 Horas). PAN members Martín Orozco Sandoval and Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares assumed roles as Governor in Aguascalientes and Veracruz, respectively. PRI politician Alejandro Murat Hinojosa took the oath as Governor of Oaxaca and promised to move the state forward during an early morning ceremony that took place secretly to avoid planned teacher union protests. Yunes Linares will serve a two-year term to 2018 in Veracruz while Orozco Sandoval and Murat Hinojosa will hold office until 2022 (24 Horas, Excelsior, La Jornada).
