South Korean companies to invest in Mexican state of Nuevo León

Nuevo León Secretary of Economy and Labor Fernando Turner Dávila revealed on 29 November 2016 his northeast Mexican state anticipated around US$500 million in investment from 155 Chinese and South Korean companies during 2017, but warned the Asian business may proceed with caution due the policies of the future Trump administration (Economía Hoy and Expansion). The announcement came after Nuevo Léon sent a delegation to Asia in mid-November to promote the state to investors. Turner Dávila explained the new companies would be positioned in both metropolitan and rural areas of the and specialized mainly in the automotive sector as well as the pharmaceutical, home appliance, and steel industries (Expansion). The Secretary also highlighted the trip yielded a productive meeting with KIA Motors World President Hyoung Keun Lee on 14 November (Economía Hoy)
