Macri working to redefine Argentina's position in the global economy

On 26 November, President Mauricio Macri held a meeting to discuss Argentina's insertion into the global economy. In particular, the President sought to redefine Argentina's strategy for attracting foreign investments, in light of underwhelming results on this front during the past year. Another key issue discussed was the new global economic panorama arising from the 2016 US presidential election results and its potential impact on Argentina (Clarín). President Macri had signed strategic agreements with the Obama administration, but is optimistic about US-Argentina relations under future President Trump, following a phone call where the two leaders promised to deepen bilateral relations (Exprés Diario).
