Nephews of Venezuela's first lady found guilty of cocaine trafficking

Efraín Campo Flores and Franqui Francisco Flores de Freitas, nephews of Venezuela's first lady Cilia Flores, were convicted of conspiracy to import 1,760 pounds of cocaine into the U.S. at a New York City court on 18 November 2016. The nephews were arrested in Haiti in November 2015 as part of an operation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (Panorama). Judge Paul Crotty set a tentative sentencing date of 7 March 2017, but the nephews' legal team could appeal the jury's decision (Tal Cual).
