Colombia takes a step towards a new peace agreement

Former President Álvaro Uribe turned a 26 page document into Colombian delegates, on 12 October 2016, dictating possible changes to the now rejected government - FARC accords. The text, entitled "Bases of a Special Agreement for Peace," will supposedly help orchestrate the development of a new deal after Uribe led the "no" campaign for the 2 October referendum vote (RCN). In a meeting, reportedly only 20 minutes in duration, the former president presented the document and claimed the changes are more than just "cosmetic retouches"(El Espectador).
