Southern Pulse provides actionable intelligence to reduce risk exposure in Latin America. We are a boutique professional services firm deeply rooted in the field, with a network of investigators that operates across the Americas.

We are focused on becoming a premier information source for individuals and companies most interested in field-sourced information - not prepackaged intelligence gathered by a cluster of analysts sitting behind computer monitors.

This is an organization firmly rooted in the field. There is no central office where people read media stories on the Internet. At its core, Southern Pulse is a network of investigators across the Americas, as well as China, Russia, Turkey, and Iran, all collecting and sharing information on security, politics, energy, and business in Latin America for Southern Pulse clients, members, subscribers, and visitors.

Open source collection and information sharing rotates around our free weekly newsletter, Networked Intelligence, published on Tuesdays at noon. Our most basic unit of information is the pulse. On a weekly basis, contributing editors and correspondents in our network group together similar pulses into blog posts.

Every week, we publish our Report Series, which is a selection of two or three briefs on current events in politics, security, economics, diplomacy, or outside influences in Latin America presented with a mixture of analysis, forecasts, and trend spotting. These reports focus specifically in news not found in media sources.

Apart from access to all our pulses, field notes, and reports, our members benefit from a growing suite of services. During the second quarter of 2011, we are working toward adding flash presentations, videos, a who's who list of Latin America, and other options for our subscribers and members.

As a network, our members engage with one another via a system of comments that we have attached to each pulse. The comment system serves as a platform where subscribers may interact with one another anonymously. Subscribers, by comparison, simply receive our newsletter and do not have access to other services or our library.

Southern Pulse | Networked Intelligence was founded in 2005 by Samuel Logan, an investigative journalist, security analyst, public speaker, and author. Six years later, Southern Pulse is a growing organization focused on collecting and sharing information for our clients, members, and visitors relevant to security, energy, politics, and business in Latin America.
